I don't feel I need to worry about Hal Prince. I do think there is Cabaret fatigue - how could there not be - but no actual damage has been done to the property and this production will not be remembered by anyone the next time the show ought to be revived which, imo, is a quarter century from now. I think we have way too many revivals as it is and would be well served by retreating to a once a generation thing (at most). And let's call this enterprise what it is. It's not here on any artistic mission; it's a money grab that honestly made sense on paper but not in life.

John Sterling, the just retired long time voice of the New York Yankees was always saying (and by always I mean every friggin' day) "you can't predict baseball." As many here probably recall, the theatre and baseball are my two favorite things. Some will ask how that can be. The answer is simple: they are the same damn thing. Anyone who tells you that you can predict theatre should be required to watch endless performances of the worst five shows that have opened on Broadway this month. If we can get the number down that small.
