I don't wish anyone ill, I (as an audience member) am sick of biojukebox musicals on our biggest stages and fail to understand the logic of the producers who continue to raise money in the vain efforts that maybe theirs will be the one that works! It didn't for Cher or Neil Diamond or Donna Summer or or or or or

Where is the business sense in this? Maybe the show will be good, maybe not. Maybe grosses will be good, maybe not. Maybe audiences will want to experience the same elements of a story they may have seen in SATCHMO AT THE WALDORF or Apple TV+'s "Louis Armstrong's Black and Blues (98% Rotten Tomatoes). I'm betting not. I thought the point of this board was to have a lively discussion about the state of theatre, and that (much to some posters' chagrin) includes the BUSINESS of show.
