| There are 8 new musicals opening on Broadway between now and the end of April: The Notebook Water for Elephants The Outsiders Lempicka Suffs Hell's Kitchen The Heart of Rock and Roll The Great Gatsby None of them seem to be coming with any particular buzz. It's a little odd that so many new musicals are coming, yet there seems to be only mild enthusiasm for any of them. The Notebook has gotten good feedback so far, but it seems that it's mostly along the lines of "good but not great." There's no way 8 new musicals opening so close to each other can all compete effectively at the box office. Any sense of what's likely to attract awards attention or end up being a hot ticket? |
