| Why do Playbills list creator, cast, and crew bios? |

Although we've gotten used to them, when the practice of publishing creator, cast, and crew bios in Playbills start?
We don't tack bios in the credits for movies or TV, so why theatre?
It can feel that the show is trying to prove that it's presenting qualified people. |
