I think most actors make ends meet by taking your order ina restaurant or other service industry.

There was an article about 20 years ago that the average actor made $6k. Probably hardly changed a lot over the years. I love IMDb because I’ll watch an older movie and look up actors and m many times they did a few films and then left acting maybe doing behind the scenes jobs to pay the bills.

I find it interesting that many actors interviewed have stated they are looking for their next gig while doing a job. I personally couldn’t live like that with the constant rejection after getting so close to even get callback auditions. I loved the chorus line revival documentary about casting to be fascinating. Someone as well established as charlotte d’ambroise had to do multiple auditions and was on pins and needles to get the part.
