Listen, he's very good, and his accent is more than good enough. But... I'd say his accent is not quite "great", as he is doing the thing so many British actors to for their version of how Americans sound, with slowed down broken up pronunciation and over-hitting his Rs. It's especially obvious at "whatever pays the wages", "quarters" too, or "brut-tull", and also "hawdy meal", where you can clearly hear his own accent coming out -- and I've never heard any American pronounce it "boo-lay-vaRD".

I'm not sure I see him as being kinda innocent. And at this point in the show, and with the specific song, his cynicism is palpable, it's all over the lyrics and music. So while I don't see him coming off this way, I don't think he needs "somewhere to go" in this sense during this song.
