He has a rather dour take on the role, but of the production's four leads he's the one I thought most deserved to win (which he did).
The accent... no, not completely perfect. But compared to, for example, the horrors perpetrated in the opposite direction by a certain Ms. Annaleigh Ashford, it's a masterclass. Broadway has a knack for giving us English accents that don't sound like anything you might hear anywhere within two thousand miles of the United Kingdom. |
