Is theater worth it from the rafters? | |

For me, it is no longer. When I was younger, I usually sat far up. I specifically recall the power of Elaine Stritch’s one woman show reaching me near the very last seats. Since sitting mostly in the orchestra level nowadays, however, I just can’t enjoy anything from way up top anymore. So, I have pared down my theatre attendance. I no longer care about a show if I can’t watch it from the orchestra—whether the seats be too expensive or unavailable. Anyone else experience this perspective change in their theater-going lives? |
