| This show, new to me, is two plus hours of silly. I found myself itching for some wit--and/or a jolt of camp--but ONCE UPON A MATTRESS is low (musical) comedy so it's just not my speed. Only Harriet Harris, who quasi-queers the Queen, is effortlessly funny. Everyone else is competent and bland. And working really hard to sell the schtick. I expect mine's a minority view, but once was plenty for me. (And where was J. Harrison Ghee? No notice, insert, announcement etc.) | |
